HomeCalc Connector — Canadian calculators inside Claude & ChatGPT

    Last reviewed: July 20, 2026

    What is the HomeCalc connector?

The HomeCalc Connector is a free Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT run HomeCalc.ca's Canadian mortgage, tax, and land-transfer calculators directly inside a conversation. It uses the exact same verified math as the website, is read-only, requires no account, and collects no personal data.

    The connector in one paragraph

The HomeCalc Connector is a free Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT run HomeCalc.ca's Canadian mortgage, tax, and land-transfer calculators directly inside a conversation. It uses the exact same verified math as the website, is read-only, requires no account, and collects no personal data.

    What it does

Ask a question like “What’s the minimum down payment on an $850,000 home in Canada?” or “Land transfer tax on a $1.2M Toronto purchase” and the assistant calls the matching HomeCalc calculator and answers with the real number — plus a link back to the tool on this site. These are the tools available today:

    Add it to Claude

The connector is a remote MCP server. To use it in Claude:

    1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
    2. Paste the server URL:https://canada-home-helper-production.up.railway.app/mcp
    3. Leave authentication set to None — no login is required.
    4. Start a new chat and ask a Canadian mortgage, tax, or land-transfer-tax question. The assistant will call the relevant HomeCalc tool automatically.

A full list of HomeCalc calculators is always available on the website, and every connector result links back to the matching tool page.

    Privacy & safety

    • Read-only. Every tool only computes and returns a number — nothing is created, changed, or deleted.
    • No account, no data collection. There is no sign-in, and the calculator inputs you provide are not stored or shared.
    • Sourced & dated. Each result carries a link to the matching HomeCalc page and an estimate disclaimer.
    • See our Privacy Policy and methodology for how the numbers are built and verified.

    Who builds this

The connector is built and maintained by Hami Tahm, founder of HomeCalc.ca. It wraps the same unit-tested calculator cores that power the website, so a connector result can never drift from the tool on the site. Questions or issues? Email hami@homecalc.ca.
